AmpKit Guitar Amps Pedals

Both AmpKit and AmpKit+ have access to all the same great gear via the in-app Gear Store, which lets you browse and buy an amazing selection: a total of 50 amp channels in 29 separate amps, 30 pedals, 26 cabinets and 8 mics. The Gear Store also offers discounted bundles to help you expand your gear library economically.

The order of your pedal effects is important, and in AmpKit, pedals are ordered from left to right onscreen. To change the order of your pedals, or remove them all together, tap the pencil icon near the far right of your pedal chain to open the Edit Pedals screen. From this screen, you can use the horizontal bars on the right of each pedal to drag it up or down in your pedal order. The graphics indicate where your guitar enters, and where the sound is outputted to your headphones or speakers (from top to bottom!). To remove a pedal from your Setup, tap the red dot next to the pedal, and then tap "Delete". If you want to simulate an FX Loop by placing effects after the amplifier's pre-amp stage, or even place them after the cabinet as mastering effects, you can also drag around the amplifier and cabinet in the same way as the effects. Here's a hint: effects like reverb and delay work best after the amplifier, and effects like wah and EQ can sound drastically different depending on their position in the chain. Be sure to experiment and see how each pedal performs when placed in different positions.

  • By selecting AmpKit as an Input, you can use AmpKit's powerful gain controls to manage the input signal of your instrument from AmpKit LiNK HD or other interfaces and apply amps or effects before sending your signal to other apps for multi-track recording.

  • With AmpKit as an Effect Module, you can harness its versatile library of amps, cabs, microphones and pedals to subtly shape or completely transform audio coming from another app such as a synthesizer, digital instrument, or looper, then output it for recording in another app.

  • As an Output, AmpKit can capture processed and manipulated audio from a range of other applications before running it through a cranked full-stack (or even just through some reverb or delay!). You can also record or re-amp as normal from within AmpKit while using Audiobus.

Compact size, increased complexity, reduced build time: these are just a few of the benefits of PCB construction. With the rise of integrated circuits in the 1970s, printed circuit boards quickly found their way into nearly all consumer electronics and with that came an explosion of small companies creating effects pedals for guitar players. The Nexus Series offers DIY builders both classic and contemporary effects in compact enclosures with reduced wiring. These kits provide users with all required parts to build a complete stompbox using printed circuit boards.

At the dawn of the 20th century, a groundbreaking invention introduced the world to complex electronics - the vacuum tube. These components would find their way into the homes of millions, providing high-quality audio at the twist of a knob. While vacuum tubes have been replaced in many circuit designs, they still shine in guitar amplifiers; guitar amps have been powered by tubes since the 1940s and tube-driven amps are key to the sound of countless famous guitar players. The Animus Series provides the experience of building vacuum-tube-driven circuits from the ground up. All parts, including the chassis, are provided along with detailed instructions. These kits result in a unique piece of equipment with an all-tube signal path, built and wired by hand.

The EF86 tube is a pentode vacuum tube that has been used in the preamp section of a relatively small number of amplifiers over the years (noteably in vintage Vox AC15s and very early AC30s). While they can sound great and have a substantially hotter output than the more common 12ax7 triode gain stage, they are notorious for being microphonic when used in the front end of guitar amps - especially in combos. However, with some care applied to the circuit design, the tendency to be very microphonic can be reduced enough to make them quite useable, even in a preamplifier guitar pedal.

Mode - this is a 3-way bright switch. In conjunction with the Treble control, a wide variety of dark to quite bright tones are available. The bright switch works in a similar manner to those on many guitar amps - at low Volume control settings the brightness effect is greater. The effect is reduced as the Volume control is raised;

Agile Partners has joined forces with Peavey Electronics to bring you AmpKit, the ultimate amps, effects and recording app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, and AmpKit LiNK, a high fidelity electric guitar interface.

Peavey and Agile Partners have just introduced AmpKit and AmpKit LiNK, an iPhone-based hardware/app combo that takes portable guitar and bass effects to a new level. It's loud, it's lightweight, and it's an extremely flexible (and relatively inexpensive) alternative to a floor full of pedals.

The software on the iPhone is where the party really starts. The free AmpKit app starts, of course, with a metronome and tuner, which are both well done, and it includes a dual-channel amp, two mics, and two pedals. AmpKit+ is available for $19.99, and includes four amps, two mics and, eight pedals. It looks like buying the AmpKit+ bundle saves you 50 percent off of buying the gear individually. Compared to buying the actual hardware to achieve these sounds, of course, it's a tidy savings. All of the additional gear can be purchased from within the app. Most pedals are around $3 and range up to $6.99.

Whereas the AmpliTube software limited you to three pedals and custom amp settings, you can have as many of the available pedals as you want in an AmpKit setup. Depending on the pedals you have in your arsenal, AmpKit will offer you preset combinations of amps and effects. These range from Snappy Acoustic to Nu Metal Valve King, with plenty of blues, funk and decades of rock history between. They make a great starting point for finding a sound, and the effects are easy to tweak individually. You can duplicate existing presets and save your edits, or you can build a new set from scratch. I had all of the additional gear available to me for the review, and I was hard pressed to find a sound I couldn't match with AmpLink.

ZVEX makes effects pedals and amps for guitar and bass and we've been at it since 1995. Our line is a unique blend of no-rules engineering and artistic whim, from our affordable Vexter series to our hand painted and custom designed items.

Mobile applications have been making advances in imitating and replicating real guitar gear over the last decade. It was not a good effort on their part, and analog fans found their audible digital sound disappointing. For any modern guitarist, there are 15 extremely realistic guitar amplifier simulations as well as 21 FX pedals in Deplike. 041b061a72
